Moneymore Farmer, five-year ban from keeping livestock

Serial animal welfare abuses have resulted in Seamus Connery (58) of Tirgan Road, Moneymore being banned by the Court from keeping animals for the next five years.

The offences were detected during a number of inspections with 28 carcases of sheep and cattle uncovered as well as other animals found to be suffering unnecessarily.

The USPCA has long advocated the use of bans and we would commend DARD for bringing the prosecution and the Court for imposing a punishment that should act as a deterrent to others.
