HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk & Fun Run is a HOWLING Success!
On Saturday the 27th of October the USPCA hosted the first HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk and Fun Run along Newry Canal Way towpath in Newry Co. Down. From 10.30am the USPCA welcomed families and their canine friends dressed for the occasion in fancy dress.
Runners set off along the 10k route at 11am and walkers shortly after at 11.30am on a 5k route. The Fun Run saw Joe McCreesh take 1st place, Ryan Grant 2nd, 3rd was Briege Grant and in 4th place was Mairead Fitzpatrick.
A huge thank you to everyone who braved the cold morning to take part & everyone who donated. It was fantastic to see the community out in force supporting the USPCA charity and we loved seeing the dogs in their fancy dress.
A second thank you to our main sponsors of the event Mourne Office Supplies & Clanmore Printing and Setanta Triathlon Club for providing us with race equipment.
Without the support from the general public and local businesses the USPCA would not be able to continue the vital work we do in protecting animals across Northern Ireland.
Stay tuned for a second walk in the New Year!
