A Katesbridge man has said ‘tame’ deer regularly appear in the area after a BBC report claimed farmed animals are being brought to the locality for hunting.

The man who did not want to be named said he was aware of one instance over a year ago when a deer came to a neighbour’s house over several days and was hand fed by the man.

“This deer appeared in the field at the back of his house and when he went out it showed no fear the way a wild animal would,” He said

“It let him go right up to it and he was able to feed it some grass he pulled up. It came back a couple of days in a row and then disappeared.”
