It’s been a problem for years. U and R, an ‘initial’ ambiguity that blurs the distinct and separate identity of the USPCA and that of the RSPCA, our counterpart in England & Wales.
A slip of the pen that diverts legacies and bequests, clearly intended for our needy animals, to mainland Britain. A costly anomaly that cannot be rectified after the donor has passed away.
The USPCA is setting out to clear a path through the confusion by highlighting the distinct identity of your local charity. Emphasis will be placed on ‘U’ as the letter that sets us apart, when appropriate will describe the Charity as the Ulster SPCA.

We’ve recruited willing help with our awareness campaign in the shape of former Wimbledon Singles Champion Australian Pat Cash and British number one, Jeremy Bates. Both players took time off at the Tennis Legends event held at the Odyssey Arena to support an awareness campaign designed to ensure the Provinces abused and abandoned animals are rewarded with their benefactors intended gift.
