Venemous snake discovered in imported grapes

USPCA Welfare Inspectors responding to a call for assistance from a Craigavon food importer removed a juvenile European Adder found in a consignment of grapes imported from Spain. The creature is venemous and native to Eastern / Southern Europe. The discovery has been reported to NI Environment & Heritage Service and they will determine the future of the reptile. In the past the USPCA have rescued many spiders from imported fruit, usually bananas, the adder is a first.
